Born on 24 April, 1992 in Harlow, Essex, Laura Trott is an Olympic-winning British track and road cyclist. Although born in Harlow, Laura was brought up in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire and began her career in cycling after her mother chose the sport to lose weight. Since then, the four-time World and European champion has won a Double Olympic Gold Medallist. During 2013, Trott received an OBE for her services to cycling. In 2014, the athlete’s hometown, Cheshunt renamed their local leisure centre The Laura Trott Leisure Centre. Laura won silver at the Track World Championships earlier this year and is currently training for Rio 2016.
